Audi Group have updated the 2.0 Turbocharged
engine to a new design that has been labeled a 'TSI' engine (some Audi
models also have this new engine yet have retained the TFSI badge! and
some engines labled TSI now have a both a Supercharger and Turbocharger
fitted).
This new engine design is also available in both 1.8 and 2.0 versions.
The 2.0 TSI engine is an evolution in many ways over
the 2.0 TFSI design - now in use is a Timing Chain, lntake camshaft
adjustment is now over 60 degrees of crank angle, 2 cylinder block mounted
counter rotating 'Balance Shafts' are now in use to counteract unwanted
engine vibrations, Updated Fuel pump and Direct Injection design at
a higher operating pressure, Updated Water pump design, revised engine
Intake and breather arrangement alongside a brans new Bosch MED17.5
Engine Management unit to name just a few of the updates and key design
changes in place.......
