Intercooler kits |

The
fitting of an up rated intercooler is recommended when substantially
more power is being extracted from the engine. A decrease in air intake temperature provides a denser intake charge for the engine and directly allows more air and fuel to be combusted per cycle, increasing the torque and power output from the engine. JKM can supply a number of Intercooler kits for the 2.0 TFSI engine from suppliers as follows: Forge Motorsport, APR, THS Performance and the very popular VAG OEM solution taken from the Audi S3 TFSI engine. |

This
is a Genuine OEM Audi S3 260/265PS Intercooler.
It has aluminium end tanks rather than plastic and it also has a slightly
larger core depth of 40 mm thickness compared to the lower power TFSI
cars core thickness of approximately 30 mm. This genuine Audi part and
comes complete with both genuine intercooler hoses and the associated
clamps that are required to mount this Intercooler. This is a simple
bolt on OEM solution to get a higher performance intercooler system
onto your car. Please see the note below on turbo discharge
pipes for cars that have K03 Turbochargers. Please Note: Depending on the manufacture year of your car, performing this upgrade on K03 Turbocharged cars may mean that you require an alternative turbo transfer pipe to the one currently fitted to your vehicle. This alternative pipe is not included with the intercooler kit - however if it is found to be required (following inspection - see below ) then the required transfer pipe can be purchased through JKM. |

Important
Note for K03 Turbo owners looking to perform the S3 upgrade: The OEM Turbo discharge transfer pipe part number 1K0 145 840 Q - does Not work with the Audi S3 Intercooler upgrade as the Intercooler entry side turbo hose has a different orientation of locking keyway. This 'non working' transfer pipe is 'generally' fitted to (and therfore effects) later cars, typically MY 2006 onwards. However an actual inspection of the pipework type fitted to your car is always recomended as it is not easy to state what models have the 'Transfer Pipe that works' fitted by chassis look up. Please see the image links here and here (or below) for infomation on what you are looking to identify for whether you have the correct pipe already fitted to your engine. |

THS
Performance's 3D CAD modelling
has resulted in a highly efficient Intercooler. With no extra pipe work,
keeping uncooled air volume to a minimum. Offering the largest volume
core currently available, using bar and plate technology for a lower
internal pressure drop. New larger inlet and outlet connections and
a unique end tank shape to give increased unrestricted air flow.

For
the new 2.0 L TFSI engines
there is one sure way to improve on the charge air cooling. This is
by using the Forge "TWINtercooler". This ground breaking innovation
features their unique twin-core design which is offers greater efficiency
throughout the entire RPM band beyond that of a single core setup. Forge
Motorsport have achieved this by using the latest core technology with
high flow end tank designs to achieve a huge reduction in inlet temperatures. Forge motorsport spent many months testing various designs and the "TWINtercooler" design emerged as the clear winner. This is a bolt-on kit that retains the use of the OEM intercooler to produce both horsepower AND torque increases, but more importantly this kit produces a substantial reduction in inlet temperatures and increased flow efficiency. The Twintercooler core is mounted in front of the other cooling cores, to get the coolest and least restricted air flow possible. |

APR
has
designed an intercooler upgrade for the 2.0 TFSI engine as found in
the VW GTI, Jetta and EOS. Charge air cooling is essential to maintaining
powerful and safe operation of a turbocharged engine and as performance
is increased, so must the efficiency of the intercooler. APR’s
Intercooler Kit for the transversely mounted 2.0T FSI was designed with
maximum performance and minimal intrusion in mind. APR’s unique ability to design and cast intricate aluminium end tanks allows them to make an intercooler that fits in the same location as stock, but with a larger core size More information on this Intercooler can be found at the link here Cast Aluminium End Tanks Bar and Plate Core Design Silicone Pressure Hoses Direct OEM Fitment - No Body work Trimming required Fits Stock or Aftermarket Bumper Cover Adaptor Coupler for Stock Plumbing Please select either Manual or DSG Transmission type in the drop down box. |
